A must stay on 1/31/2010 by Jess We stayed in Dec. 2004 in one of the Disney Suites. It was the most classic hotels on property. I love this hotel and the Royal Palm concierge was so helpful and a must extra. It is a way to splurge! Read reviews by Jess

AWESOME!! on 8/1/2007 by Catherine There is only one word for the grand:AWESOME! Our family stayed here march 2007 for 5 nights! Our holiday began from the moment we stepped through the doors. As a huge Disney fan, it felt like I had stepped into one of the movies! The Grand Floridian has the ability to take you away from he norm and into a world of fantasy! We stayed in Boca Chica, this was ideal as it was a hop, skip and a jump away from the pool, a small walk away from the main lobby, everything we could have possibly needed was a short stroll away. For a great view of the wishes fireworks at MK we suggest you watch from the marina- they staff have even been nice enough to play the wishes soundtrack through speakers to correspond with the fireworks, just like in the park! Staff are very friendly, genuinely -- not because they are paid to! The only downfall to the Grand Floridian is that it will spoil every other hotel you ever stay at! nothing else compares! Our stay at the GF on 2/22/2006 by Mera We stayed at Disneys Grand Floridian Resort for our first anniversary trip in September of 2005. We chose to stay at the GF because we married at Disneys wedding pavilion a year earlier and wanted to relive a little bit of the magic. We didnt request a specific room or building, but I did request to not have a dormer room. After we checked in we went directly to our room. As luck would have it it was a beautiful room that overlooked the Marina, but it was a dormer room. I knew I would not be happy with this because I am short and whenI sit on the balcony, I can not see over the ledge. So if you are petite or under 5 "2", I would suggest having an open balcony ( the ones with the slats in them) The dormer rooms have a closed balcony and seem to be a bit higher. Well anyway we called to the front desk and DJ the manager took care of it. We were given a different room that was just as beautiful and had a great view. The rest of the week spendt at the GF was just wonderful. They pamper their guests so much here. They knew we were a fairytale wedding couple celebrating our first anniversary and we were given a magical moments certificate upon check in, and the night of our anniversary we were given complimentary champagne and roses! It was just great. The pools were great, as were the restaurants. We tried Park fare and Citricos. We also liked the gasparilla grill for those quick breakfasts and for late dinners when we wanted to sit on the marina and eat while watching the fireworks. Overall I would say our stay were was quite enjoyable. Yes, It is very expensive to stay were, but I know I will be saving my pennies if I have to because I enjoyed it so much. Just a suggestion for anyone who chooses to stay here, because it is so expensive, make sure you make time to just enjoy the resort. Lounge by the pool, rent water crafts, go to the spa, really make the best of your stay here. Dont just view it as a place to sleep when you are through visiting the parks! Read reviews by Mera

Grand Floridian Hotel 6/14/04 on 8/20/2004 by Debbe My family and I stayed at Grand Floridian from 6/14/04.
We stayed in a lodge tower room in Big Pine Key (I believe) room number 9314.
The extra sitting area space was so nice, two tvs come in handy at night, especially if you have children.
It was especially nice being able to take monorail to Epcot and Magic kingdom. Taking the bus is what tired me out before, and since these were my favorite parks, I didnt need to take a bus at all. You have to transfer to get to Epcot, but I cant complain, it is better than having to take the bus and not getting a seat. Monorail was so much fun anyways....
The in-room amenities were nice too, especially the shampoos and lotions etc. The other resorts do not get the types of shampoos they use at GF.
I had afternoon tea at the GF, I cant remember what the name of the place was now, but it was specifically for afternoon tea, that was so wonderful!~
My mom and I had tea, sconces, devonshire cream, strawberries and cream, and finger sandwiches, there was just so much, we were too full to eat dinner.
Breakfast at Grand Floridian cafe was so yummy too, I had the Japanese breakfast and it was 100 percent traditional Japanese cuisine, it was so delicious, I thought I was in Japan for a moment.
In the afternoon, this same resturant has a spinach dip to die for!!! I am not kidding!!! Try it yourself, you will not believe it!~
This was the cleanest, most relaxing hotel I have ever been to, the landscape, the victorian charm, there is something about this place that will take away all your worries, and make you feel magical. I will go to Grand Floridian again and again!~

May 22-29, 2004 on 6/14/2004 by Tayra This is truly an amazing resort! From the moment we arrived to the check out. We stayed in the concierge main building and when we arrived we were wisked away by a CM with the concierge planning office and when straight to the 3rd floor for check in, very nice and quick without the wait to check in..LOVED it! The CM was very friendly and helpful to all our needs and questions. Our room was not ready yet so we enjoyed a snack at the lounge while the CM put a rush on our room, another plus! It only took about 30 min and we were shown to our room, The CM escorted us to the room and asked if everything was up to our expectations. It was and we all ran to the patio to check out our view...wow!!! It was Cindys Castle..just as we have requested and on the same floor as the lounge, another request. We could grab a cup of coffee in the morning and bring it back to drink on the patio as we watched the magic begin! It was a wonderful room and mousekeeping could not have been any better. The room was spotless and odorless. You usually have that hotel smell in a room, kinda musty but not overwhelming. Not this place, it was perfect. I did ask for a child size robe and they never brought it to us. I let my pumpkin use her daddys and she was fine with that. We did have 2 missed wake up calls...they never called! Those were the only problems though, minor. The lounge was wonderful and very clean with fab CMs there too. I would put this place down as a must stay for everyone doing to WDW!!!!! Well be back next year and have even requested the same room!!! It gets a 9.5 out of a 10 for me. Lets see if we get those wake-up calls and that robe next year and it will have a 10!!!! Mouseketeer Club at the GF on 2/22/2002 by Jo We dropped our kids off at the Mouseketeer club at the GF this past Sunday (1/20) while we dined at V&As.
The kids really liked it. The room isnt very big. There is a TV with all the Disney videos available. There are 2 bathrooms, 3 tvs for video games and one computer. There are 3 tables in the middle of the room for the kids to play, eat, make crafts at, etc.
If the kids get dropped off by 6pm they get dinner. The choices are chicken fingers, pb&j, macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, hamburgers, cheeseburgers or hot dogs. Everything is served with fries and they have milk, chocolate milk, fruit punch, juices, etc for drinks. You order them something when you drop them off. They also have a bottle water cooler so that they have spring water for them if they get thirsty.
The kids dont get dinner until 6:45pm so if you are dropping them off early, either feed them something or bring them a snack so that they wont be starving before dinner.
You get a pager to take with you. There is a $125 charge if you do not return the pager.
My kids had a good time and came back with a few crafts that they made. I asked them if they would like to go back and they both said yes.

Grand Floridian experience on 1/23/2002 by Jo We had reserved a Garden View room. About one month later I had called and asked for a Lodge Tower room but none were available at that time. I asked for a note to be put on the reservation that if one was available upon check-in that we would like to switch the reservation to that room. We did get the room at no extra charge. That is the only request that we made. We were in room # 9214 in Big Pine Key. The room was great, the extra space was nice. I liked the fact that we could sit on a chair or the couch to watch TV instead of the beds. The second TV was also nice. It had a nice balcony that overlooked the quiet pool. I liked the light dimmers in the room. It was nice to be able to just put the dimmer on without disturbing everyone at night. The room had a mini bar, hair dryer that was very powerful, an iron and ironing board in the closet and a safe. The hair dryer also had a night light on it that would light up when all the other lights were off. The safe was large and could fit a laptop in it. You would have to stand it on its side though, It can’t lay flat because the right side of the safe has shelves.
The bathroom was nice but nothing great. It wasn’t any bigger that the one we had at the Wilderness Lodge. The soap was oatmeal soap and very nice. We usually bring our own but we didn’t need it this time. I always bring my own shampoo because I prefer it.
Before our trip I had looked at pictures of the different room decors. I didn’t think that I would like the Alice theme but it was nice and not busy at all. The room was very close to the elevator so we didn’t have a long walk and the quiet pool was right outside our building. The baby pool was very warm and the regular pool was heated. Even though the water felt cold at times. We all preferred this pool to the new one, mostly because with our kids, we felt more comfortable here. Older kids will definitely like the new pool with the slide.
Check-in (8:30pm) was quick and all the cast members we encountered were very pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again.
After unpacking we went for a walk around and got the kids a snack at Gasperillas. When we got back to the room and I pulled the covers back, I noticed that one of the sheets had a little dirt on it. It looked like part of a shoe mark that could have happened while the bed was being made, if the sheet was on the floor a little. We called housekeeping and they were there within 5 minutes. Not only did they change the sheet but everything on the bed, including the bedspread. Now that is what I call service.
Now for the things that I thought could be better. For the prices (rack rates) that the GF charges they could give you bigger bath towels. The towels we had didn’t even reach the floor when I wrapped it around my 4 year old. The monorail service to the MK was great but the one to Epcot takes forever. It took us 1 hour to get from the GF to the Rose and Crown in the UK. It would be nice if they also had a bus service to Epcot so that you don’t have to deal with the changing of monorails. Pirates Cruise Review on 1/23/2002 by Jo My kids (ages 4 1/2 and 7) went on the Pirate Cruise (1/17/2002) that is offered at the Grand Floridian and its open to everyone. They really had a good time. They said that they searched for pieces of the map at the different locations that they stopped at and then they found the treasure at their last stop. One of the cast members decided that they didnt want to share the treasure and the kids got to throw him/her off of the "ship" and leave them on the "island". They all came back singing and laughing and with huge smiles on.
The kids get a lunch and snack along with a bag full of "treasure".
All the kids MUST wear a life jacket that is provided.
Here is the explanation from the disney website.

Narcoosees restaurant in the Grand Floridian on 10/27/2001 by Crystal Hewitt
My hubby & I have decided that Narcoosees is our favorite restaurant- bar none! The atomsphere is casual and relaxed, overlooking the seven seas lagoon. The menu is primarily seafood, very fresh, and extremely well done. However if your not a seafood lover there are still choices for you as well. We have always received excellent service here. However our favorite part of any meal here is the view. Castle & fireworks watching across the seven seas lagoon is unbelievable! They also pipe in the music for the fireworks (as is done in CA grill) however I believe that the view is perhaps slightly better than CA grill. This restaurant is wonderful for a couple looking for a romantic meal as well as a family looking to enjoy themselves.

new beachfront pool on 12/15/2000 by Ahnalira Scheduled for completion in the summer of 2001, the Grand Floridian is adding a themed "natural spring" pool on the beach with a waterslide... oh, goody! Read reviews by Ahnalira
romance at its finest on 8/24/2000 by Ahnalira GF is one of the most romantic resorts, imho:) Here's a list of my faves:
The boat ride to and from the Magic Kingdom
sitting on a swing on the beach and watching the electric water parade
eating a dinner at Citrico's
sitting in the lobby all snuggled together on one of the overstuffed sofas watching the world go by
a cozy afternoon tea Read reviews by Ahnalira
GF room service! on 6/14/2000 by Misti You'll love the beauty and elegance of the GF. A great way to enhance the romance and charm of this resort is with a private dining breakfast. Your meal comes complete with white linens, silver, and a fresh flower. You may enjoy your breakfast from the comforts of your finely appointed room or out on the balcony for some fresh Florida air. Definately worth doing at least once! This is living!! Read reviews by Misti
refubishments and transportation on 5/25/2000 by Ahnalira The color scheme is changing:) to Jewel tones and there will be four differently themed room types (One of them is the Blue Fairy and Tinkerbell. How cool is that?!). As I understand it, there is no gaurantee on which style you get, but requests are welcome:)
Also, keep in mind that while all buses go directly from the GF to their destination, on the way home every bus stops first at Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian. This is great if you want to have dinner at Artiste Point in the Wilderness lodge.
Enjoy,
