Member Reviews: Submit a Disney's Coronado Springs Resort member review! Rix Lounge at Coronado Springs Resort on 11/6/2008 by Dizneydonna Rix Lounge located at Walt Disney World’s Coranado Springs Resort (my favorite Moderate Resort), is becoming a wonderful new “hot spot” at the Walt Disney World Resort. Although the Walt Disney World Resort recently closed all of its nightclubs at Pleasure Island, in Downtown Disney, I think it’s important that people know that this location is a very appealing alternative. The atmosphere and decor is what I would refer to as super-hip with throw-back touches here and there to the 70s. With lots of cozy sitting areas and a nice size dance floor, it offers an atmosphere for those just wanting to relax with some friends, as well as an area to “get your groove on”. Also, Rix offers many “special events” throughout the year, usually only requiring a $5.00 cover charge. Very reasonable for events such as the Halloween Parties (for both adults and children, offered at different time-frames on the 31st ), New Years Eve, SuperBowl, Saint Patrick’s Day, etc. To take a peek into this hip, new nightclub and to keep informed as to what special events may be happening, you can go directly to the nightclubs website here, www.rixlounge.com.
The next time you’re at the Walt Disney World Resort and are in the mood for a more adult-oriented atmosphere, take a look at Rix Lounge……I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Read reviews by Dizneydonna
We LOVED CSR! on 3/11/2007 by Jodi We stayed at CSR in Sept of 2006. It started out bumpy when, after a long flight delay and a very long day, we were told that our requests for buildings could not be accomodated b/c 2 conventions had booked after us but requested the same buildings. They had us stuck in Ranchos, where I did NOT want to be. However, after a heartfelt plea with the cm at the desk, he went well above and beyond the call of duty by searching and searching until he got us an awesome room. It was actually a preferred room (we payed for a standard) and were right next to the main building! Our view was absolutely spectacular! The room had just been vacated and we had to wait for it to be cleaned. So, he called and got us seating at Maya Grill where we enjoyed a marvelous dinner! When we got to our room we were thrilled and that was the same for the rest of the trip! Our mousekeeping service was excellent! We had the same gal daily and she left us notes on coasters telling us to have sweetie dreams or magical days or whatever every day! The only unpleasant service was at the pizza counter in the food court. The lady was very rude to everyone we observed, including us. But otherwise, we had wonderful service! The pool was awesome, too! The grounds are absolutely spectacular. All the fountains were amazing. We would most definitely stay there again! Read reviews by Jodi
Best mod on 12/19/2006 by Nettie Just returned from a great stay at CSR!! The transportation was great, the Pepper Market has some great choices and the main pool area looks awesome, even though we didn't get a chance to use it. Read reviews by Nettie

BRING WALKING SHOES on 8/12/2006 by Laurie Strippoli NOT THAT IT IS NOT A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, IT IS, BUT WHAT HOTEL IN DISNEY ISN'T? we were there for a dance convention, asked to be booked near convention center, made reservations way in advance. When we checked in and were drawn a map of where our rooms were, I asked 'how do we get there? "well we have trams". Yeah, good luck. I later found out there was ONE tram for 1900 rooms which meant walking from our room to the lobby for ANYTHING, 1/2 mile each way. Fine if you're out for a leisurely stroll but not rushing, carrying costumes, etc. I saw many elderly people barely able to make the walk every day. Management could care less. The hotel rooms were no better than some of the other hotels outside Disney we stayed at. They did have convenient transportation to the other parks. Pepper Market was great, such friendly staff, as ALL DISNEY STAFF are trained to be. No one in housekeeping speaks English which I find offensive. WORK HERE, MAKE MONEY HERE, SPEAK ENGLISH HERE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. If you are traveling with young children, and grandparents, make sure your room is near lobby otherwise be prepared to walk walk and then walk. Read reviews by Laurie Strippoli
Coronado Springs - Disaster on 4/20/2006 by John Dunning I stayed at the CSR in April 2006. The rooms were nice and clean and the chambermaids provided and excellent and friendly service. The restaurants at the hotel provided a wonderful experience, the amenities were great and the buses to the parks were regular and relaible and matched what I would expect of a Disney vacation.
Now for the negatives - reception perhaps Disney should be offering fast pass tickets for CSR reception as my experiences were lines of up to 20 people waiting to be dealt with by no more than 3 staff (until a complaint was made) My own experience of reception was at 12 midnight after travelling for 18 hours and being left to carry all my luggage because there were no porters and then being watched by a disinterested receptionist as we proceeded to carry our luggage the wrong way around the lake making the trp to our room some three quarters of a mile rather than 200 yards.
- room service this left much to be desired and calling room service for breakfast was generally greeted with an unfriendly reception as if the person taking the call had been forced to get out of bed just to answer our breakfast call. More often than not there were language problems as the staff did not appear to speak English (or couldnt be bothered) and it took me fifteen minutes to include a bottle of water in my room service order because the person taking the order "did not understand" what a bottle of water was. In the end we gave up on room service and started stocking up on our own food
- The management The management were all too happy to apologise for bad service and make promises of things that would happen to correct it - but unfortunately the promises never came to fruition
- Hotel Airline Check-in I was thoroughly disappointed to find queues of people waiting for the airline check-in service at the hotel whilst 4 staff stood and chatted to each other instead of serving customers and one member of staff continually complained about how he did not want to be there. The chaos that followed for people who had checked in as bags got lost, misplaced or given to the wrong customers within 10 minutes of them being processed would have been laughable were it not so distressing for the people whose bags had been mishandled. Oh, and dont complain if you dont want to be jeered at!
All in all, Disney is great, the parks are great, the transport is great, the rides are awesome, the restaurants are expensive but very pleasant. In fact, the only thing that lets the side down is the administration at CSR. What a shame for Disney to have its reputation ruined by a handful of staff who cant be bothered. Best Mod, great pool, beautiful grounds! on 8/21/2005 by Annette Our family loves CSR. Our most recent trip in April was fantastic! The Pepper Market makes quality, fresh food, not like the other food courts Ive experienced. The grounds are spectacular. A+ for the CMs and this resort! Read reviews by Annette

March 21st to March 27th on 4/2/2004 by Lindsie Dispite some negative reviews on other sites, my family of 8 decided to stay here afterall. We are so glad we did. The fam included 4 adults, 2 teens a 21/2 year old and an 11 month old. This resort is not totally geared toward the adult traveler. My kids had a great time at the kiddie pool and the maids will sometimes welcome them back to the rooms by setting up their toys in the windows, or something like that. Everyone there was very nice and were great with my kids, even with the temper tantrums they could sometimes have. The only negative report I have is the complaints that I heard from the obviously spoiled guests towards the workers there. The cast members work as hard as they can to accommodate their guests, but some people can just not be pleased. PATIENCE is a virtue, and a little can go a long way. Just a few notes: Ranchos are beautiful, even with the walk; Pepper market was awesome; buses were very convenient; pay attention to the scenery during your 5-10 minute walk...its not bad at all. Goin back next year, or if we win the lottery, sooner! Read reviews by Lindsie
Enjoyed our stay on 1/29/2004 by Fran We stayed in the Cabanas section in July 2003, for eight nights. The hotel was wonderful, clean and quiet, and we never had long to wait for a bus. The main pool was nice, and we rented the water mice and the surrey bikes on different days. Both enjoyable, even in the heat. We tried both restaurants, the Pepper Market and the Maya Grill, although we only ate at the Maya Grill for breakfast, but the breakfasts there were fantastic. The Pepper Market food was good, we usually took it back to the room with us as the dining area there is quite busy and loud. The theming is gorgeous, and the grounds beautiful. I would recommend a stay there. Read reviews by Fran
Coronado, wonderful experience on 5/21/2003 by Erin My husband and I stayed here for 5 nights in November of 02. We loved it! We stayed in the Ranchos and had a wonderful view of the lake and the little river that flows through that area. The resort and grounds were very clean and well themed. The cast members were very helpful and friendly. The Pepper Markets food was very good, and the variety was a welcome change for a moderate resort. The Maya grill was excellent. I agree with a comment another person made, that the resort is large, but that is what makes it feel peaceful and not crowded. We never had a problem with transportation from the resort, the buses were always circling around, we never had to wait long. Over all we had a wonderful time at this resort and will be returning. Very short stay.. on 8/29/2002 by Beth This resort was a delightful suprise!
We only had one night..and really do plan to return.
As I think about it now..it was the perfect place to begin our Western Carribean cruise.
the little patios and gardens are delightful!
Cant wait to try the pool!
Loved the Pepper market! Read reviews by Beth
cool fountain on 7/19/2002 by Susan:) I stayed here last Feb for just one night, so I did not get a total resort experience. However, I could tell that this would be my least favorite of the moderates in terms of theming. I did not care for the inside of the rooms at all- the southwest decorating style is just not my thing. But the outside of the builings in the Rachos section were neat, and with the landscaping, its like you are really in the SW. And I loved the lobby area, especially the gorgeous green fountain! Also behind the check-in desk is a pretty mural painting of Mexican people and landscapes. The cast members were all very nice. I didnt get a chance to explore the rest of the resort, and I would stay here again just for the purpose of seeing all of it, and to see the green fountain again! But in general, I much prefer Port Orleans. Read reviews by Susan:)
CS, a great resort on 6/20/2002 by Tammy After long deliberation over the subject of where to stay we chose Coronado Springs. My family and I all love Mexican cuisine, so we thought it might be nice to experience a taste of Mexico itself...
This was the third Disney resort we have stayed at (we have also stayed at both the Port Orleans-French Qtr and River Side). We really enjoyed this resort, and our kids (age 7 and 2) also loved it (especially the pool area). I was worried that the size of the resort would be a bad thing, but instead it gave it a very tranquil, peaceful setting. We loved our walks to the Pepper Mkt. and loved riding the bikes around the resort. My son liked the hammocks at the beach area and wants to stay in the same room when we go back next time... my husband and I, however will probably try to talk him into either the casita area or the more secluded (and very well themed)ranchos. This is mostly because we like trying new things, but I thought the cactus and rock landscaping was really nice at the ranchos and the casitas look sooo polished...looking at them, I felt like we had the plain section of the resort (cabanas) but we were still very pleased.
One special note... dont use their long distance service! One 5 minute call cost us $20.00! But do try their Mugs. Especially if you are planning to eat at the Pepper Mkt. or be around the pool often.

Coronado Springs on 6/14/2000 by Minnie In the moderate category of resorts, I think this one is definitely is good choice for a couple. Since it is a Convention resort, it is geared toward the adult traveler, with added amenities for the same cost as other moderates.
The transportation option to the Boardwalk is also a plus. Read reviews by Minnie
