Member Reviews: Submit a Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas member review! Omg Disney rules on 7/14/2010 by David This resort is awesome but what I love most was the grand villa!!!! This room was larger than my house at more than 2000 square feet! I almost fainted when I walked in, Disney has really outdone themselves. Being the number one tourist attraction in the world I bet many people love to stay at disneys animal kingdom!!! Go disney! Read reviews by David
My new favorite Home on 6/7/2009 by Ser Alan We are staying at : the brand new (one month old) Kidani Village Deluxe Villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge. This place is everything and more that we hoped it woujld be. To start with, this is structured so that all the rooms are in one very large building that wraps around the Savannah in two large and very long arms -- we have quite a walk to our room 7454 from the lobby. However, parking is a dream because the parking lot actually goes underneath the building and the elevators (Zazu elevator in our case) comes right down in the middle of the parking area, almost right next to our car.
The walk, albeit long, is covered the entire distance and air conditioned - unlike some Deluxe Villas. The lobby is a reduced version of what is now called Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge, with a simlar expansive window looking out over the savannah and beautiful African theming throughout.
We also have a fantastic view of the Savannah from our one bedroom suite, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, wildebeeste have all been spotted. The rooms are huge, notably more spacious in the living room area. The kitchen is luxuriously appointed with granite countertops, and the furniture is all nicely usable and sturdy. The master bathroom is spectacular, as big as some peoples bedrooms! A large luxurious glass enclosed shower stall sits next to an expansive, ergonimically shaped spa tub with enough floor space to do yoga routines! Then there is a second full bathroom in the other room. This is all graced with a couple of LCD tvs, a DVD player and a place to plug your iPod into the tv.
The only eatery here is Sanaa which is hands down the best Deluxe Villas restaurant ever! I've already written a glowing review mentioning the spectacular African theming, ground floor view of the Savannah, and delectable assortment of African delicacies finished off with the best Mosala Black Chai tea I've had anywhere!
Unfortunately, there is no counter service in the building. However, Jambo house is only about a 10 minute walk away where you can get your counter service needs fulfilled at Mara which has the standard counter serve amenities (in my case a breakfast croissanwich and a double latte for Ahnalira!)
The have a great workout fitness area (Survival of the Fittest) and the pool area is extensive and well appointed.
All in all, I am already eager to come back again and we haven't even left yet! -- Next stop: Bay Lake Towers and I don't know how they are going to be able to compare to be honest! Read reviews by Ser Alan
Superb view! on 12/13/2007 by Ser Alan We recently had the opportunity to use some DVC points to stay at the newly opened Animal Kingdom Villas in the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Basically it looks like they converted a wing of standard rooms into villas, we stayed at a 1 bedroom villa which was beautifully appointed and had a great view of the animals. A few sacrifices were made to fit the villa into the smaller space, in particular the stand-alone shower and walk-in closet were notably absent. However, the kitchen was then nicest DVC kitchen with granite countertops we‘ve seen in a villa and the bath tub was wonderful, most comfortable tub I‘ve ever experienced.
Overall it was fantastic and I was extremely pleased with the accomodations. Can‘t wait to see the real villas when they get finished! Read reviews by Ser Alan
